I had told J, I was not ready to get another puppy since we just lost Mya. I still miss her. On the way home from the grocery store a few weeks ago I saw 10 puppies running around in front of a house. I slowed down and the owner said you can come pet them...like I was going to say no! The groceries will have to wait to be unloaded.
Plus I had the kids with me, they wanted to see the puppies just as bad as I did. All three of us were so excited to pet the puppies. GM was running around trying to get them to chase him. PJ was giggling from all the excitement. I asked how much, the owner said all they had left were males and they were asking $450.00. Wow! Way too much for our budget and besides I just stopped to pet the puppies. I called J to tell him what the kids and myself were doing. He was immediately jealous, "I want to see the puppies." The owner said we could come back. I knew that J would like the fattest biggest pup there. The boy was huge. But again the price was way too steep and we had just lost our Mya. So I figured it wouldn't hurt to come back with Jay and play with the puppies again.
We ran home unloaded the groceries and picked up J. We went back to the puppies and they had just finished dinner and were full of energy! As soon as J say the big one he was smitten. The "big" puppy was licking his face and J was giggling just like the kids. I told the owner we live just down the street on 2XXth. We again talked price and told him that if we could pull off $450.00 we would let him know. And we left.
A few days later.I was on my way home and I got a call from J, the puppy owner found were we live and told him that they would be willing to come down to $200.00 for the puppy J liked. The owner felt like the puppy would be a good match for our family. When I got home we discussed it and agreed we would get the new puppy. $200.00 was way easier for us to budget. And he is a very cute puppy.
On June 17th (a week later) The puppy was ready to come home with us. Because I have this thing with names I gave J 80 different ideas to name his dog. My first pick was Bruin but J shot it down. The final names were Chase or Jake. And J decided the puppy would be named Chase.
He has been a wonderful addition to the family. I still miss Mya and wish she was around to help make the puppy feel comfortable. You can tell Chase misses his brothers and sisters. Our other dog Shelby is a little more independent and not sure of the puppy.
